Adapted Physical Activity (APA) is physical activity for persons who require adaptation for participation in physical activity.
Out of Finland’s 5.5 million population approximately 0,7 Finns has some kind of weaken functional ability due illness or disability. Some of them can exercise within general physical activity services, but some require adaptation for participation in physical activity. In the near future the need of APA will increase in Finland due to the ageing of Finnish population.
